RCA 2 Line Speakerphone with Call Waiting/Caller ID Review
I have purchased some of the most expensive multi line small business/office phones and have always been disappointed by lack of features or poor performance, until now.I have been using this phone for over 2 months now, and here are the features I need/want that this phone provides:
BACKLIT LCD (LCD Lights up when any phone function is activated and remains on with plenty of time to see the data before automatically going off)
Speakerphone with good sound quality (Crisp and clear, I use the speakerphone alot and people can't believe it when I tell them they are talking to me on my speakerphone)
Speed Dial buttons (This phone has 16 "memory buttons", plus 2 additional speed buttons for voice mail on each line)
Headset jack with good amplification (Most of the 2 line phones I have used have such poor, low volume sound quality that I have had to add an external amplifier. No need for an amplifier with this phone headset jack, it is great!)
Easily dial numbers from Caller ID memory: (This phone automatically adds a "1" to calls received from outside the home area code when you use the Caller ID screen to dial them back!)
Stable angled base: (Base is designed to position the face of the phone so that it is tilted up to allow ease of use/good line of sight from a user sitting at a desk. No need to use an additional tilt arm or platform)
Here are some of the weaknesses of this phone:
Can't program the phone to determine which phone line should be the priority line. Line #1 always takes precedence over line #2 when the handset/speakerphone/Headset is accessed. (I like my Line #2 to be the predominant line, so I solved this by plugging Line#1 phone cable into the jack labeled Line #2 on the phone and vice versa. The I added and reversed new Line #1 and Line #2 labels on the phone)
Can't turn keypad tones off.
Keypad buttons can be a bit sticky. Sometimes I need to press and hold a number instead of a quick tap.
I realize my experience with this phone is quite different than the other reviewers her, could be related to maufacture date... my phone was manufactured/shipped 2/20/06.
