Quite simply, it doesn't. It is a simple cable. Either it works, or it doesn't. It worked for me, but the seller I bought it from wound it poorly and it took me a long time to fix the error. Be careful of buying cables that are twisted -- they can get pinched in the process of unwinding them. There is a RIGHT way and a WRONG way to spool cable or wind it up (even just using your arm) and you need to know the difference between the two if you are intending on not damaging your cable.
The long and short:
The cable was long, and worked.
The short: Buyer beware.
