1)First thing first, unplug the modem before plugging the adapter in, otherwise the power for the adapters antenna will not come on. Changing wireless setting and network name is easy all you need to do is login to the modem by way of the modems IP address (default address is 192.168.0.1). Before you apply the settings copy the key (Ctrl + C), so that you can past (Ctrl + V) it in to the security field when you connect to the network. Windows Vista and 7 users', need to open the Manage Wireless Network window, to change the proprieties of the network if you did not change the SSID name. Right click on the network name and click on the security tab: past (Ctrl + V) the alphanumeric characters in the encryption key box, then click okay.
