I used this USB client to provide wireless 802.11n to a home theater PC. I simply took it out of the box, plugged it in, waited for feedback that it was working and that was it. No drivers to install, no software to use if you want to use its default 2 GHz radio. To switch it to 5 GHz and use its advanced functions, you need to install the enclosed software, or get the upgraded one from Engenius' website. Note, this is a dual band switchable client, choose either 2 or 5 GHz radios, you cannot use both concurrently. It supports WPS well, so press the AP-router WPS button and then the USB button within 2 minutes, and the two devices will exchange security information and establish a network link.Pros
Plug and play install: I've tried it on a Gateway box, an Acer laptop, and an Emachines box, all were plug and play. I tested it on XP SP3, Vista 64 bit, and 32 bit, all flawless. While it can be controlled through Windows, the advance functions need its enclosed software

USB dongles have small antennas and placement is limited because its stuck to the USB port. For flexibility, you can buy a USB extension cable, as example Black 6 Foot USB 2.0 Extension Cable, so you can mount the 9801 on the cable, plug the cable to your box or laptop and position it for best reception possible. Not just any extension cable works, the one linked as example doesn't work very well for fast transmissions. Make sure it has good thick insulation, otherwise the throughput will suffer.
Software ergonomics is clunky, but its very functional
No Wifi Certification: not an issue, the Ralink chip set used is certified, and I can log in without problems to a Linksys, Tenda and Engenius router easily
5 GHz has shorter range, so its very sensitive to position if you want the fastest possible speed
