I purchased item to improve web connection to my backyard workshop. It's a big backyard (1.25 acres) and I was getting a very poor signal with my cheap usb WiFi adapter. The new "high power" adapter helped a little but not as much as I expected. I had to relocate the router to a different room of my house so signal was not going through as many walls to really get good results. After moving the router it's now rock solid. Would I buy again? I don't know. My $8 cheap USB adapter might have worked OK if I had tried moving the router first. I guess what I'm trying to say is try other solutions first before spending your hard earned $$ and don't expect this adapter to be a miracle fix.
